About Us
Scoil Naomh Mhuire NS is a small rural, coeducational school situated in an idyllic setting in the heart of Donadea. Our team of dedicated and committed staff strive to provide a happy, safe and productive learning environment for all our pupils. The high quality of our child-centred approach to teaching and learning has been commended by the Department of Education & Skills in our recent Whole-School Evaluation, Management, Leadership and Learning.
We take an active, discovery-based approach to learning, using the most up-to-date practices, as recommended by the Department of Education and Skills – Aistear; Ready, Set, Go Maths; Literacy Lift Off; Cooperative Learning and the use of technology in all classrooms. Our pupils’ attainments in literacy and numeracy are consistently higher than the national norms. Our recently developed buildings and grounds provide an attractive and productive learning environment for all our pupils.
