Library and Sensory Room
Scoil Naomh Mhuire have recently installed a new cabin which will be used as a library and sensory room. It is a wonderful addition to our school.
The realisation of this project was made possible thanks to the incredible support from our community and generous grants. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Kildare County Council who provided much appreciated funding through the Brigid 1500, Drehid and Community Grant schemes. We are also grateful to Croí Laighean Credit Union for their support. |
Through providing a school library we aim to support and foster a love of reading among the children. We hope to encourage students to become more active readers, exploring literature outside of classroom-based reading and to pique children’s interests, through a variety of topics and texts.
The sensory space will benefit all children, especially children with special educational needs. They can use the sensory room to explore their senses in a safe environment. The room contains a range of different things to help children develop, explore, and engage their different senses. |
