Guidance for Parents
Dear parents
I hope you are keeping well!
I have uploaded a file here that goes into detail about the work for this week and the worksheets needed. If you have not completed last weeks list of work that is completely fine I have just added to the workload not created a new list.
I have added some extra English, Irish and Maths for this week as well as an extra Geography and Art task for those who completed last weeks tasks already.
Please contact me if you cannot access any resources.
Kind Regards,
Miss Dempsey.

English
This week in English we will be continuing to look at Report Writing. For this week, the children will be expected to look at their rough draft of their native Irish bird and write out their finished Report. Please do not forgot to make it colourful and include pictures. Please send me on the finished report to read. I am excited to learn all about your birds!

Also in relation to Reading, I wanted us to try and read together. So I have attached the link to bring you to the online copy of Roald Dahl's very famous book, the BFG. I have attached an audio of me reading the first chapter today that the children can listen to as the read along to the words. This week I would like the children to read Chapter 2 called "Who?" and next week I will read Chapter 3. (Click below for the book)

Irish
This week we will be reading about birds and Spring! (An t-éan agus an t-Earrach). I have uploaded the reading comprehension in the link below with recordings of myself reading them aloud to help the children with pronunciation.
If you just click on the speaker Icon and press play the children will be able to hear me read and then they can read it aloud afterwards to practice their oral Irish. I have also added in translations to help at home because I understand that Irish is a tricky subject to help with.
I have also included a PowerPoint with a voice over to go through some new words about ag Siopadoireacht. They can use this to help them draw their town with shops and write 3/4 sentences about the town the draw/create.

Maths
As a school, we are all looking at the topic Weight for this week. We will be using our Planet Maths, pg. 114-116 to practice our maths this week. (Activities outlined in Timetable!)
I have also made a video for the class this week about weight. I have included simple activities you can try out at home to practice weight this week. I am very sorry for the delay! I had to make it into two videos as it would not upload as one.
I have also left my video about the lambs in case some people did not get around to this maths challenge last week.

Drama/Art/ Music

What do you think the message is from this song
