4th Class Work : 20th April - 25th April 2020
Welcome back 4th Class! I hope you had a fantastic Easter and are refreshed and ready to start into some work. Our theme across the school for April is BIRDS.
We will be using this lovely Bird Song Opera video from YouTube to support our lessons. I have put together some activities for you to do in relation to our theme. As always, try your best and do what you can. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries. I am only an email away. Miss Dempsey. |
English
This week in English we will be starting to look at Report Writing. For this week, the children will be expected to research a native Irish bird and plan their rough draft based on the worksheets attached in the file above. Next week you will be writing out your reports properly and it can be in your copy or on a page. You can also add pictures and colours.
If you would like to send me on your rough draft I can correct it and give you two stars and a wish! :)

Irish
We are also reading about birds in Irish! (An t-éan). I have uploaded two reading comprehensions in the link below with recordings of myself reading them aloud to help the children with pronunciation.
If you just click on the speaker Icon and press play the children will be able to hear me read and then they can read it aloud afterwards to practice their oral Irish. I have also added in translations to help at home because I understand that Irish is a tricky subject to help with.

Maths
As a school, we are all looking at the topic Money for this week. We have completed this Chapter in our Planet Maths books so we will be revising it this week. I have made worksheets which are found in the document above and I have provided an outline on the work to be completed.
I have also made a video for my class about the two new additions to my family, my pet lambs! I wanted to show the class how maths is used in our everyday lives, so this video is about Capacity and Weight. I have attached the video below and questions can be found on the worksheet. I hope you enjoy it and get your thinking caps on for names!

Religion
Click play on this video to hear a Song called "all Gods Creatures have a Place in the Choir" and sing along with the lyrics. Discuss the questions below:
What do you think the message is from this song? Why do you think God would accept all creatures? Should we treat people/ animals with respect even though we may be different? |
