English
This week in English we will be looking at Explanation Writing. For this week, the children will be expected to read the example of Explanation writing in the document above and write their rough draft.
I will upload a video Wednesday morning for the children to watch first to learn about the topic this week. The topic for their writing is "How is Honey made?".
Also in relation to Reading, I wanted us to try and read together. So I have attached the link to bring you to the online copy of Roald Dahl's very famous book, the BFG. I have attached an audio of me reading the Chapter 7 today that the children can listen to as the read along to the words. This week I would like the children to read Chapter 8 called"Snoozecumber" and next week I will read Chapter 9. (Click below for the book)

Irish
This week we will be reading about Samhradh! (Summer). I have uploaded the reading comprehension in the link below with recordings of myself reading them aloud to help the children with pronunciation.
If you just click on the speaker Icon and press play the children will be able to hear me read and then they can read it aloud afterwards to practice their oral Irish. I have also added in translations to help at home because I understand that Irish is a tricky subject to help with.
I have also included a PowerPoint with a voice over to go through some new words about Samhradh. There is a poem in this powerpoint for the children to practice.

SESE
Geography- I have uploaded a PowerPoint below about bees with a task located at the end. This can help you with your English this week!
Science- build a small water slide out of things found at home. It must be able to have water poured down it that will be kept in and will not leak. You can test and see if your slide will carry marbles or small items. There must be something at the bottom of the slide to catch the "people" off the slide. I have attached a photo below to show you an example.
History- I have uploaded a PowerPoint to the website about an Aztec myth about how the Sun and how important it was to them. There is a task at the end of the PowerPoint.
